Playa Blanca
Playa Blanca is a relaxed resort on the southern tip of Lanzarote, combining some of the finest beaches in the Canary Islands at Papagayo, a charming marina village, outstanding snorkelling and easy ferry access to Fuerteventura. More tranquil than the northern resorts, Playa Blanca offers a genuine escape in a spectacular natural setting.
Elect's take
"Playa Blanca has a quality of tranquillity and natural beauty that I find very appealing. The Papagayo beaches are extraordinary and the combination of the relaxed marina atmosphere and access to Fuerteventura creates a genuinely restful destination."
The Papagayo beaches south of Playa Blanca are protected within a natural park and provide some of the finest beach experiences in the Canary Islands — small coves of white sand and extraordinarily clear turquoise water. The Marina Rubicón is a beautiful development of restaurants and cafés around a small yacht harbour. Snorkelling and diving in the clear Atlantic waters is excellent. A frequent ferry to Corralejo on Fuerteventura takes approximately 25 minutes.
