Wuxi
Wuxi is a prosperous and beautiful city in Jiangsu province on the shores of Taihu Lake, China's third largest freshwater lake, combining outstanding scenic landscapes including the famous Three Hills Island, excellent Jiangnan cuisine, significant cultural heritage and easy access to both Shanghai and Suzhou. Known for its scenic lakeside beauty and as a major centre of Chinese technology industry, Wuxi provides a genuine and less touristy Chinese city experience.

Taihu Lake provides beautiful scenery around Wuxi with boat trips to the Three Hills Island (Sanshan Island) and the famous Turtle Head Isle peninsula providing excellent lake landscape experiences. The Lingshan Grand Buddha is one of the largest bronze Buddha statues in China at 88 metres and provides a significant cultural and spiritual experience. The Nanchan Temple area in the heart of the old city provides a lively traditional market and temple district. Wuxi spare ribs and Taihu Lake freshwater fish are local culinary specialities of considerable quality. Suzhou is 15 minutes by high speed rail; Shanghai is 30 minutes.
